The new year is about a month away, and it's time to spend time with your friends and family. New Year's is a time when we cherish what we have, reflect on the year just past, and look forward to what's in store in the future!

1. Anyone can participate, both Patrons and regular s.
2. The submission period will be open from 2019-Nov-25 Monday to 2019-Dec-13 Friday.
3. Each may submit, at most, 1 picture per day.
4. To enter your submission, simply reply to this AniDB forum thread with your picture.
   1. your image to one of the whitelisted image hosts. imgur.com is preferred. Whitelisted hosts: abload.de, tinypic.com, flickr.com, imgsafe.org, imgur.com, ipfs.pics, photobucket.com, picload.org, postimage.org, puu.sh
   2. Embed your image in your reply using the image tags.
   3. If you wish to make an anonymous submission, send an AniDB forum PM to CDB-Man instead.
5. The voting period will be from 2019-Dec-14 Saturday to 2019-Dec-22 Sunday. You may vote on as many images as you like.
6. If we suspect vote stuffing, then the staff will take this into consideration when looking at the results, and discard entries if needed.
7. In the unlikely event of a tie, a runoff vote will be held from 2019-Dec-23 Monday to 2019-Dec-29 Sunday for all images coming first place in the original vote. Each will only get 1 vote in the runoff.
8. In the even-more unlikely event of a tie in the runoff vote, the AniDB staff will decide the winner.

1. Submit an AniDB anime image that will be used as the banner on our Patreon fundraising post. The banner should tie in this contest's theme (as described above) with both anime and AniDB.
2. You are allowed to use the AniDB logo in your image, and it is encouraged!
3. Original content is preferred, but not mandatory.
4. Since the images will be posted on our public Patreon page, all images must be family-friendly, for all ages.
   1. 18+ / adult images will not be accepted.
   2. For borderline / ecchi images, the staff (mainly CDB-Man) will have sole discretion to accept or reject the submission. Note: we will lean on the more conservative side.
5. You are allowed to sign your image with your name (and optionally, your AniDB ID). Please have the signature in the bottom-right corner.
6. All images should be submitted in PNG format to comply with Patreon's requirements.
7. For a Patreon post, a 16:9 ratio image would fit best.
8. Images should be high resolution, 1080 x 1920 at minimum.
9. We reserve the right to disqualify images that don't meet minimum quality standards.

Here's my submission:


It's more winter-themed than new-year's-themed, but hopefully good enough. Suggestions are welcome if further edits are needed.

I'd been waiting to see what dirahna came up with, for inspiration... Can we allow some more time, at least for a submission from them?

CDB-Man mentioned that he'll give few more days for submissions to come in and hopefully our fishy fella will have enough time to make another masterpiece.

Serious submissions only; I reserve the ability to disqualify images via image requirement #9.

I'll wait until Monday before proclaiming Deth the winner by acclamation.

I really wanted to submit something, but I'm still hospitalized, and my phone makes for very poor 'shopping - and that's when I don't get yelled at for having it out.

*Sigh*

I really wanted to do a Hatsumode one, too...

Well, it's not a banner, it's not a submission, it's not Hatsumode, but it's at least a bit of holiday cheer, made last year, when I also couldn't participate, thanks to a shattered finger... Looking back, I've not exactly had the best year

Anyway, here's Christmas Kana, in her second appearance:

I unfortunately saw this just now and what's worse, misread the post and thought that submissions were accepted until 22 Dec. Anyhow, here it is for what it's worth.

Well, I've been out of town myself for the past few days and only got back today, so haven't had time to put up a voting thread. That and, given that I opened the door to purposelycryptic, it would only be fair to also extend that to you as well, polariser.
