The earth shook. The sea roared. A far greater disaster followed. And then...

There is a small house solitary standing by the seaside. A pigtail-braided girl is living there alone since that day. Mail is no longer delivered, but even this morning she's hanging out the laundry as usual. She's unaware that all around her, the clothes-pegs are quarreling, the pillow argues with the umbrella about the outside world, and the new toothbrush is unsuccessfully trying to be polite with the silent, old ones.

Do things exist to be used until they are consumed or broken? Are they afraid of being thrown away once their life cycle is complete?

The cute art style make the story even creepy-er. I was expecting this to be a light watch, but it was actually quite a dark tale. The ending is not an open one, but the story has various ways of being interpreted.

This definitely has been a one-of-a-kind movie for me.

The art style is simplistic but very beautiful and expressive. The worldbuilding is also simplistic but there is nothing more needed. The story is told with only a few humans which don't communicate with words. The only oral communication you're able to listen to is between the inanimate objects - which offers a really interesting point of view.

Another asset of the movie is the possibility to interpret it since various perspectives are offered.

This is a movie you won't watch just once!
