On the beginning it's little slower but the fun beginning little after. You will be laughing on the ground and trying to catch breathe. Using of the mythology as the source of the story and jokes is very good idea.

The first couple of episodes felt a bit dry, as I was expecting something completely different. After that, the comedy kicked in and I couldn't get enough of it! Essentially, it takes you through different sections and situations in Japanese Hell, colored by very creative concepts and a lot of dark humor.
Beautiful animation and plenty of great characters. Shiro and the rabbit are some of the funniest characters ever!
Whether you're a fan of Japanese lore, or just looking for a good lighthearted comedy series, this is your stop!

Strangely, although there is no relation, the humor style in this show frequently reminds me of Gintama. At the least, it's a bit slapstick, a bit cultural reference, largely based on scripted logic, satirical, and all-round well done. I can imagine this show having a broad appeal with an adult crowd in particular. Strangely relaxing even though the subject matter is a Japanese version of a sort of 'hell'. Everyone should watch a few episodes to see if they like this humor style because shows of this type are quite rare. If you like the first few eps, the rest is just more of the same. There isn't much 'story' or 'character development' here since the premise is the comedy itself, not the story.

The use of folklore, myth and legend, to make social commentary on today's issues daily life issues is hilarious. one of the most intelligent comedies out there, this time with a more mature tone.

Great anime! Beautiful and interesting art, has parody jokes on other anime, very unusual story in comparison to many currently produced anime, and lets you to learn a little more about Japanese folklore. The only minus is: "Bishoujo tarinai!". But well, this is maybe only my preference.
