Aoki Yasunao was born February 27, 1960 in Iwata, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. He is an animator and now anime director.
After graduating from Futamata High School, Aoki ed Telecom Animation Film where he worked as animation on popular TV series such as Lupin III, Chie the Brat, Takarajima and Tetsujin 28-go. Afterwards he left Telecom and ed Deen where he became director and was put in charge of episodes on series like Urusei Yatsura, Vifam and Patlabor. In 1990 he left Deen to become a freelance director. In the aftertime he worked often on Sunrise productions and after directing several OVAs was finally able to direct his first TV series, Mon Colle Knights in 2000. He is best known as the director of Inuyasha, where he followed Ikeda Masashi.
