I absolutely loved this one. If like me you have watched both seasons of the old Haruhi anime series, the Haruhi-chan spinoff, and the Disappearance movie, you will most likely really appreciate this one, and the nostalgia is definitely there. More than that though, unlike the other Haruhi adaptations, this one is at its heart just a lovely romance story, with slice of life and romcom stuff, without all the science fiction of the original. It's also way more laid-back, and all the characters are great. Haruhi was way more likeable to me here because she has a bit more sense than before, and she is ive of the blooming romance between Kyon and Yuki. And Asakura Ryoko is amazing here. Kyon is awesome as always. Also, make no mistake, although Haruhi still has an important role here, the main main characters in this spinoff are Kyon, Yuki, and Ryoko.

if you've watched both Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu (2009) (ALL of it) and Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu, then this is 10/10 simply because it rides on the wave of emotions caused by them. highly recommended to watch it all in a row.
if you didn't, while it may seem like a nice moe comedy on its own (it certainly is), watch Haruhi first. otherwise, you'll just miss too much.

Want to see the Haruhi series from diferen angle without any mystery and just focuse on the girls and have good time? wtach it

Disclaimer: My religion is Haruhiism. But I will be honest on this. Its purely a "For Fans" anime. It probably a rom-com with lots of slice of life in it.
It's an alternate/parallel dimension when none of the character have they powers nor is Haruhi god. Everyone is a normal high-school student - though Haruhi is still super pumped like she is always. It focus mainly on Kyon and Nagato's love relationship which is often cold and warm. At one point, this anime gave me hope that Nagato might probably regained her super alien powers when she lost her memories but I guess not.
And just like tht the anime ended like how it began, just like a paradox that you can expect from Haruhi's universe. For fans only. Others that are interested are advise/highly rec to watch the original Suzumiya Haruhi
